As the series that looks at government, private industry, and investor perspectives on how innovation happens - and how it makes a difference, “Innovation Sparks” will host its last episode on Wednesday, February 21st at 12:30-2:00 p.m. EST. The series will continue under the monthly DAU web event series, titled “Innovate to Win”, which supports the DAU project to address innovation knowledge and skills areas.
For five episodes, educator, innovator, and DAU visiting faculty member, Dr. George Vukotich - in partnership with DIU - has brought together experts and leaders from around the world to discuss the very latest in emerging defense technology. In this final and sixth episode focused on AI solution delivery, listen in as industry and defense leaders talk problem curation to capability delivery.
This immersive case study discussion will walk through how the DOD leveraged a DIU prototype to adapt a private sector capability, via Silicon Valley-based company, Quantifind, into a multi-agency program.
Hear from Dr. John Stockton, the co-founder of Quantifind, the technology company that provides software as a service to discover, investigate, and report entity risk as an indicator of potential financial risk, financial crime, and money laundering, and defense mission partner; William "Russ" Sears, Senior Technology Officer Joint Intelligence Operations Center Europe, Analytic Center; Jaime Fitzgibbon, Program Manager at DIU’s Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) Portfolio and founder of Ren.ai.sance Insights, an AI-focused advisory network based in Vienna, VA; and Dr. Craig Dudley, Division Chief at U.S. Africa Command.
Panelists are set to discuss how they partnered together to collect and fuse vast amounts of unclassified, open-source data to map the activities of competitive powers in foreign countries using AI. A tech tale of transition, program leaders will share how they got a mission-ready capability into production - along with their challenges and successes.
